I'm trying to find out all the different types of semaprochilodus there are and pics of each. I've been searching for awhile but I'm still having trouble. Anybody care to help me out? Thanks

2 or 3 to my knowledge but i dont claim to be an expert, how many and what have you found thus far?

I only know of two S. Taerinus and S. Insignus. The notable difference between the two is the contrast bewtween the colors on the dorsal and the caudal fin. I can never remember which one of them it is but i think its insignus that will have color on both dorsal and caudal. The other species will only have color in the dorsal. At least this is from what i remember about them. What i did recently find out is that they can get to around 2 ft as i saw at both the national zoo in D.C and the National Aquarium in Baltimore. My biggesr was only about a foot long.

Ed, some of those 9 are double listed/same species.

I could have swore there was a species that gets 3ft or close as I swore they were offered before... hmm..

Edit: Yeah as I thought All Happy offered them before. Wow can you imagine a 3ft fei feng.. http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=119095&highlight=flagtail

Thanks Kevin, yea if u want to see huge fei fengs check out the national zoo in D.C. they had some HUGE ones in the tanks with the Pimas. Not quite 3 ft, but im comfortable saying they were over 2 ft. Plus the zoo is free..lol
