Yes they come from rivers where they are used to lots of current. I have water flowing fairly heavy in 3 directions in my tank. And 2 airstones, they love swimming into the currents. Just like most people seem to agree on here so far, they have won my heart for sure. Probably my favourite fish atm.
Some say that you need 6 or more for them to be happy. This has been my experience so far. I have only had them for a few months with numbers going up and down for the last 6 months. Now that I have 7 they seem to come out and play much more freely. The bigger they are, the harder it seems for them to get acclimated to changes. Sometimes it takes them a month or two to come out of hiding. I did some scaping in their tank the other day and I’m fully expecting to not see them for some time now.
