I have heard of 5 gallon dwarf puffer tanks so I was just wondering how many could I keep in a 5 gal?

Chad

i would say at most, 2 being that they need at least 3 gallons each. are u gonna keep puffers? i always wanted to :)

I am not sure really. I am just in a mood for some new fish and have a 5 gallon laying around...You think I could get three in there if I planted it and overfilter? Its just they are sooo small and I don't like to keep speices of fish in pairs. I much prefer trios+.

IC thanks guys...I think I may pass on them then. If I am going to have a small tank I either want one big-ish (for a 5 gallon) fish or s bunch of small ones. Not just one real small one.

you can do a pair, and they might breed on you.

with a five gallon, im sure u can try squeezing a couple of neon tetras in there. just add some decor, and it will look like a very lively tank! if not, then cardinals would work too. ;) it might be a little cramped on space, and they might not like it, but it will work

That's pretty terrible advice. DP's aren't community fish, they'll terrorise other fish you keep with them.

1 DP to a 5g. The only fish a lot of people have success with are ottos, and armoured plecs. Obviously there's not a lot of scope for an armoured plec in a 5g...
