I have a 220g tank I have pics of it some where on here already. I have close to 47-48ish fish in there now how many more can I safely add with out hurting my tank or how many fish can a 200g safely hold? I'm running a fluvial FX5 filter on it now. The ammonia levels are what was it .05 or less it was the yellow line just got a water check last night form the pet store and i do 50% water changes every 2-3 days. I was thinking of adding some yellow labs and powder blue cichlids in. Please let me know back.

You can have 1 inch of fish for every 1 gallon of water. This rule applies to all tanks and all fish. J/K

If your ammonia and nitrite levels stay at 0ppm,the fish are not stressed or dying, and you can keep the nitrate levels under control with weekly water changes, your not overstocked.

Guys, could it help if he added another filter geared towards more BIO filtration? Is it possible that with that many fish, there isn't enough BIO filtration? I would honestly have more than 1 FX5 on a 220g. However, this is coming from someone that will be running a Fluval G6, Rena Filstar XP3, and a Eheim 2229 Wet/Dry on a 125gal. :P My stock is different though...all predatory fish that poop like a pig.

As they said though, get your Ammonia, and Nitrite levels to 0 before you add anymore.
