How big is yours?

hmm honestly? everytime i try to take pics of mine...they come out as blurs lol. so practically non existant :(

Hi Fish Lovers.

Today is my first day on the Forum

My friend is an animal lover and rescued 2 Oscars from a man who did not have the means, energy or desire to care for them properly.

Adam is now their primary care-taker. I am his helper. I insisted that he save them, since when I went by the tank, which was in a common space at our co-housing residence, the Oscar would look out at me and I felt I could tell they were begging at me with their eyes, "Save Us."

Adam had originally stolen away the goldfish that were to be used to feed the Oscars, since he is somehow against it. I think he read that the goldfish can be diseased and harmful to the Oscars. He is now raising 40 or so goldfish in a smaller tank.

I am planning a fund raiser for the Oscars May 20th since we understand they need at minimum a 100 gallon tank and they are in a 40 gallon [?]. I figure we need to raise at least $1000.

I will post more about that later.

They *do look sad. They are eating better now. And eat from my hand. They are happier and more energetic with the clean tank. The water is fairly cold so I think they can eat more?

Best to you all. [waves to Monster Fish forum]

Political "Let My People Go" sign, graffiti-ed by a protective party goer @ Oscar Cichlid Tank. Tonight I float (or perhaps sink?) my proposal for an Oscar Fish Charity Event with my house mates.

Yea I was hunting around for the right place to post. But I gave up. Got other things to do today. Like feed the Oscars. ;)

welcome.
wrong section btw..
but good save.
i dont think you'd need 1000 dollars really.

If you look at my heading, "One Fish Picture" you will see that I answered the question of the thread and so wasn't.....completely off- topic.

Yea, I have one picture that's any good. I took it with my phone camera and mailed it to my newsfeed friendfeed.com/pegcarter.

Downloaded it. Trimmed it. And Voila... I deleted the others I took since they did not work out.

How would you go about getting a 100 gal. tank. I assume the shipping charges make it best to get locally? Around here they go for upwards $1000.00.
