My tank should be cycled in the next few days... when should i add fish and how many at a time... looking at adding plants first tho... jsut curious how many fish to put in at once. this is going to be a aqua forest so just need to know how much i should add at once..

start small a single 6" or so fish or a couple sub 4" and then wait for a few weeks before adding others.

those fish are small so they would likely equal the bioload of a 6" fish (just as a warnign bioload goes up exponentially the larger the fish is). keep your eye on the parameters and watch for any nitrite spikes.

if it looks good at 2 weeks and the parameters are only showing nitrate do a 30% water change and then you can add the new fish at that time.

what is a dangerous nitrate and amonia level in a 75g? also is it dangerous for plants?

it really depends on the plant but most won't like a readin of more than .5 ppm on ammonia, .5ppm on nitrite, and 40-80ppm on nitrate.

try to do waterchanges when nitrate reaches that 40-80 ppm level.

use the gravel vac to do your waterchanges, so when you see nitrates in that 40-80ppm range, use the gravel vac to do the waterchange.

also after my cycle i should nto have to many issues with nitrate and ammonia as long as i keep with water changes every 20 days or so drain 25% correct?
