On the cusp of placing an order for a new 240 long acrylic tank. Biggest reason is due to its weight advantage over glass. The shipper will deliver the tank curbside only.

How many folks do I need to move this tank ?

Thanks.

I would use 4 people or 2 people with a furniture dolly. When I had a 240 we successfully moved it with 4 people and it was glass. Your acrylic should be a lot lighter.

A 240G made out of .5" thick acrylic will weigh around 180lbs. It may weigh a little more or less depending on whether or not there are overflows and how large the top openings are.

Two average sized guys should be able to carry it.

But if you are a little dude or dudette, don't try to be a hero and get some help. Machismo/bravado can lead to stupid mistakes. Dropping a brand new 240G would suck.

6 if you are SUPER scared (LOL)

Seriously - 2 will be more than fine. If you are a little lightweight, then grab a couple more guys just in case.

i moved a 300 made of 1/2in acryllic with just one other person. it was a challenge but we got it done.it was really just awkward really. i also have a 240 coming and am planning on using two other people. the extra guy just in case or if anything needs to be moved or adjusted while we are holding the tank.

Hahahaha...

I am a wiry skinny guy. Even my diabetic doctor told me I need to gain weight......ouch.

Got burly friends though. Will do it with 4 people....myself, 2 burly friends....and oh yes my girlfriend who is actually a tad stronger than me. She is a special gal, re-arranging furnitures around is a breeze with her around.

Thanks
