how many foodsticks is condered overfeeding?

Hello, i just bought a 3 inch arowana, im feeding him hikari foodsticks. I was wondering how many should i feed him? I fed him 3 sticks this morning. Should i keep feeding till he doesnt want to eat anymore?

at a young size, you want fish to eat well. 3 should be enough, but consider yourself lucky that he is eating in the first place!

Try breaking the foodstick into smaller piece and soften it abit before feeding. For the foodstick may expand inside the fish and may cause casuity issue.

I tried breaking mine up but they never sink.

ya break them in half just dont crush them if they get crushed they sink. do a morning feeding of 3 and a night feeding of 3.

arowanas dont really tend to overfeed....they usuall stop eating after they have had enuf unlike CATFISH! so i think u can feed it until it wont take anymore...but once a day

It's only overfeeding to an arowana if there's food left in the tank he won't eat. I've never heard of someone losing an arowana due to overfeeding.

i think you can keep this way, only doing what koji said, break it in pieces.
at least yours is eating pellets, mine only eat live foods.
when hungry, it even catch some pellets, but drop it right after "tasting".
about overfeeding, even with feeders, only eats the quantity he wants.
