I'm looking to buy some red tiger motas, and am wondering how many you guys honestly think i need to start with in order to end up with a pair. @ $20 a piece I don't want to buy too many if you know what I mean. What are your opinions? Anyone have any for sale? :naughty:

Unless you kill the fish, I cant see how you can lose. A large adult fish is worth at least the same if not more than a juvenile isnt it? So buy 6 fish, grow them up and sell off what you dont need. You might be selling off extra breeding pairs!! Its too time consuming to grow up less fish and the more choice your fish have, the better your pair/bond.

Umm.. What are "red tiger motas"?

yes, that is what i'm talking about. I got lucky and my LFS was able to order me some. 10 should be coming in tuesday or wednesday. I can't wait.

parachromis are very easy to breed, i don't see you needing more than 1 male and 1 female of the same size to get a breeding pair, but you can do more if you prefer.
