How many front teeth do Armatus have?

I noticed my Armatus has 2 long fangs on his bottom jaw (obviously)
and in between is the 2nd to longest tooth that in on his top Jaw. On his bottom jaw he has a tooth print from opening and closing his mouth and it is probly half the size of his long fangs.

Do they have this 3rd tooth or is it just mine?
I seen it fall out but it grew back so Im assuming it is there to stay

Here is a blurry pic and when he closes his mouth, his 3rd tooth sticks out.... looks funny


You can see his left fang and a small patch of gray (spacing till the next white tooth) then a slim but longer than the rest (except the 2 long fangs) tooth then another slight gray spacing followed by the right fang

I want to take him out of the water so bad so he can smile for us, but its not worth it:)

He's evolving before your eyes......... QUIT feeding him goldfish and he wouldn't need this 3rd tooth.

You should name him Rhino.

I believe they all have this tooth.

Behold...... Your mistake was not buying at least 2. If you did then you could just compare.

My sis was taking care of them when I was doing Major re-modeling to my new house and I bought 2 Armatus. I had them in a 10gl for about a week and 1 checked out. My sis texed me and I was mad/worried. I know she tried to do the best in taking care of my fish but things happen. She likes to name her fish (me too sometimes:ROFL:) and after she told me the sad news she texted me "What is the name of your little fishy"?

I replied "Dont Die Foo".........:ROFL:
So ever since the name stuck to him:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:
It is an inside joke name that stuck to him. I even tried to change his name but it even stuck to me:ROFL:
 
I stand corrected.........AGAIN.

But seriously I think if you browse the pics of these things you'll find that tooth is normal.

Just to be sure I'll check tonight when I'm feeding mine..........feeding them SMELT.... ah ha ha ha !!! :headbang2:nilly:
Sorry.... had to..... Last night was the first time I've fed them whole smelts without having to cut them up.

DANG!!! they must be huge now. I seen 6pcs from IA in one tank and 4 were atleast 9-10". It must be the dominant ones of the tank. I think that might be why my lil guy is not growing as fast:irked:

What size are your guys now?

My guys are little....... Big ones are 7 inches....Or in Armatus terms 8-9 inches....LMAO. I feed mine only enough to keep them from killing eachother. I power fed my last one and then he got to the point where he was ready for a new tank and I just sat there scrathing my head wondering why I did that????

I don't have a bigger tank for them YET...... ;) Got something in the works though....

But I'm definetly NOT going to try to grow them up fast...... I like them just the size they are.

I'll dig some pics up here in a bit.
