How many frontosa cichlids can be kept in a 55 gallon tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
0 when full grown. They will be ok for a little bit in a 55gal but once they start to get some size your going to need to upgrade. It will happen faster than you think, so I would suggest budgeting out for a 125gal soon so you are prepared and you can purchase it when you need it.

ME and you both are in the same boat and alot of people have suggested a 125 but someone said that with the right filtration and setup of the tank with the rock and whatever you plan on throwing in there, that you can have up to 7 or 8 for meantime or at least 6 to 8 months just keep an eye on the water and levels. Good luck

a nice 315 like mine with do you nice for a colony:)

How long are you wanting to keep those guys in there? I would say less than six months. You need a six foot tank for the guys. They are slow growers, but these guys can be skittish sometimes and reach up to 12-13 inches they need room. Get a 125 gallon, take them back or sell them off.
