they were 2-3" cichla xingus got 8 of them now about 4" buy eating shrimp and pellets

As much as they can eat. I try and stay away from blood worms and use chopped shrimp and chopped silver sides. I as so use soaked pellets in blood worm juice if need be.

the new pair i picked up seem picky on food still im using a bloodworms at moment and mixing crushed hikari food stix in with them to help get the flavour for pellets. Also will try some shrimp on weekend once i can get to shops

At 5" you'll get a lot better growth feeding chopped market prawn IME

I feed till their little bellies have some shape or they stop eating, about three times a day.
