Yea raising that many anymore is not the best move unless you got help lol. I've learned the hard way and will no longer raise over 50 per spawn. I've always had bad luck with aggression.
I am breeding red texas so it behooves me to save all of them if possible. I currently have over a hundred growouts. 150 gallon, 60s 30s... Of course raising a red texas spawn is kind of like raising a haystack for a few really valuable needles. In other crosses of course you can grade quality at a much smaller size, and therefore raise fewer.
Right now I've got about 50 keepers that I'm hoping will look like their dad.Yea raising that many anymore is not the best move unless you got help lol. I've learned the hard way and will no longer raise over 50 per spawn. I've always had bad luck with aggression.
I never have that problem with this spawn. I had 150+ of them in my 40 with very try few casualties. I had that happen in my last spawn in my 75 but I think they were picking off the sick and weak.Yup. I have 40-50 in a 40 gallon breeder. They are barely an inch. seems one gets clipped every few days.
