how many full grown discus in a 75??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
if you can get a 100G tall with the foot print of the standard 75G then you can put 10 adult in that tank with some pleco(meaty eater only cuz they don't poop as much) and the tank still look a bit bare with no deco or landscaping. I currently have 6 adult ranging fro 5 to 6'' in my 46 bowfront with some l134 pleco and it doesn't look any where near crowded at all because the tank is 21'' tall while my standard 75 look a bit tight. The discus swimming on top of each other give you a nice view too. I do 25% WC daily with 70-75% WC twice a week.

10g per adult discus general guideline.
While this guideline is ok, just please don't house any grown discus in a 10gal or 2 discus in a 20gal :( A single discus should be housed in nothing less than a 55gal...at a minimal

I'd say 6 as well.

Naturally, the consensus would be to keep on top of the water quality with discus anyway; so it becomes more an issue of crowding, spoiling the visuals etc

I should have been more detailed in my response. I agree 100% and was meaning 10g of water per adult. In a properly sized tank
