I have a 75g. What is the best number of Balzani to keep in a group? What about ratio of male to female?

Are you going to be adding a pairing gymno, dimerus, or your oblongum to the tank too? Would impact the over all total for me. I like the 1m/3f ratio for them, keeps the male distracted.
Had 3 males and 5 females. Worked great. The subdominant male took a beating (in bazanii terms) from time to time, but everybody else was fine.
The females like to each stake out a small territory though, so make sure the footprint of your tank is big enough, and you arrange decor to mark boundaries. Or Send your oblongum to free up some room

Thanks. I ordered 5 from Ken. They are pretty small now (3/4-1") so who kows what combo i will get. I will grow them out a bit in my 46g.
Yes I will add the Oblongum pair too. They are very mellow towards other fish, even when spawning. I guess we will see if all the Balzanii make it and adjust as neccesary.

I bred the 3/4-1" ones that Ken is listing now before I got rid of my colony. Saw them the past weekend and there was significant size differences already. If you ask for 2 big ones and 3 small ones, there's a good chance you'll get a good ratio.
