Quarantine Tank
just curious....for those of you who have one,

how many gallons is your growout tank? how long does your growout fish usually last in it?
:)

I think all my tanks turn into growout tanks... besides my tubs. Most of the time I use my 40 gallon tanks as growouts though. They are mostly bare bottom tanks with simple filtration and low stock levels. Clean water- healthy fish...healthy fish- eat a lot... So they don't last to long in these tanks usually. But they have saved my @$$( or even better the fish) numerous times when I have my impulse buy days:wall:

another question for everybody....whats currently in your growout tank?

 HAHA...LOL

Allot of people are going to tell you there only tank is their grow out !! LOL

Well I've got my 30" Arowana in my 55 gallon grow out, til i can afford to get the life long home of 100 gallons for them... What do you think? Oh and here's a picture:)"

Currently my monsters are in a 110, as my 150 sprung a leak. and My 250 is a stand away from being filled cycled and putting them in there. Been working on this since before the 150 incident. They are mighty cramped compared to the pics on here of my 150...

But my grow out is 55 g. and i have 2 Blue acara a female convict, and Grwoing out my wifes Oscar that will most likely go into the 250 here in a few weeks when the rest of the fish go in.. As he is 4" and won't fit in any mouths currently :)

SO 55g.

Prized Breeders
RED BELLY PIRANHA---->100g, sometimes (2)100g if the batch is big....This time, I will use an indoor pond...Something like 300-600g....

MIDAS DEVIL, OSCAR, and other cichlids----->55g....I quickly sell/trade off cichlid fry to the stores...

Feeders
CONVICTS--->55g...I set dividers, sometimes up to 3 dividers, for the pairs to have their own space....

BBS and ADULT BRINE----->If I'm bored enough, I will grow some in hatcheries made of 2-Liter soda bottles.....

i have no grow out at present as i sold it but will be setting up a 30x30x20 78 gals tank for growing out and breeding fish within a month or two.

20 long with 2 1" pink cons and 3 2-3" bala sharks growing out, large angel, 5 cories, 6 zebra danios are there to stay unless my 29G opens up, amazingly everyone gets along, the male con shares a pvc tube with the cories and the cons aren't trying to mate unlike my black cons who have had babies before i can even do a water change

30gals is mine..... Got some flagtails....

I'm growing out some 1-2" thin bar dats in a ten gallon. I'm also growing out a bunch of bichirs in a 20 gal long. And I also have a bunch of clown loaches that needs a lot of growing to do.
