hi all i have decided to design and build a wet/dry sump for the 150 gallon tank i will be getting soon and was wondering how mnay gallons of bio media should my wet dry chamber hold for this size tank ? ive done a bit or searching around mfk but cant find how much my wet/dry should hold

Check out the SeaReef series at the bottom of this link... http://www.aquatic-discounts.co.uk/NewShop/description/amiracle.htm

That might give you an idea of where to start. But because your making your own, I'd suggest going slightly larger than the commercial units. You can never have too much, right?!?!?!

good luck with it. Keep us posted with your progress

Depends on the media you are going to use. You could use the link above as a guide for bio balls. Coralife recommends about a gallon of their bioballs per 50 gallons of tank volume. Pot scrubbies are a better choice then bioballs, the scrubbies have 2.5 to 3 times more surface area and are cheaper.

THANKS really helped after seeing that i think ill go with 10 gallons (approx) of media and yes im guna be using pot scrubbers
