Depends on a few different things. I don't run any on my 180g it is in a room wit air temp at 75 degrees. I run two xp3 and two AC110 filters on the tank and they heat the water to 80-81 degrees.

Aaaaaah, yes... Okay well I will be running an FX5 and a Marineland C360 on it. And possibly an Aquaclear 70 powerhead...

using 2, 250 watt heaters.

yeah i got a 150g and i have 2x 250w. its fine with just the 250 but i got a 2nd one incase one fails and its preventing 1 heater from always being on most of the time.

4 watts per gallon to be able to raise the temp 9 degrees over ambient room temperature. So, it all depends on what the room temps are. If it stays low 70s and you want to keep it in the low 80s, then 2x 300w heaters should do the trick.

If it's in the garage and the temps dip much less than that, you'll need a lot more juice.
