Right now I have one 3.5 Inch Uaru, 2 Pictus, and a 1 Pleco in a 55. How many more fish could I have?

I would really like to add a blue acara, a sevrum, or maybe a Rainbow cichlid.

I want a cichlid that is not overly aggressive, Do thse fish seem like a good match as long as I get one near the same size as the Uaru?

the severum is a good choice

I think a severum would be a nice addition.

if i were you, i'd add the acara and the rainbow cichlid. the severum[in my opinion] will outgrow your 55. even the uaru is going to get too big imo.

Yeah that is why I only have 4 fish, I am planning for when they all get big, but people keep telling me that I could have more fish, and I do see alot I like at the LFS lol.

i think you'll be fine

well, the thing is, that the uaru is going to get 10-12" depending, your pleco(which i will assume is a common) will get 12"+, and a severum will get roughly a foot. assuming your 55 gallon has standard dimensions(13" wide), your fish will look pretty awkward in that, especially with decorations. in my opinion, that isnt exactly an ideal accommodation. i would recommend you get rid of the uaru and pleco and get some smaller species of south/central americans depending on your preference.
:)

With the standard 55g try to go with fish that will go no longer than about 7". They just end up looking to squishy.

Nah no common pleco for me, that's boring. My pleco is an Orange Seam, they don't get near as big as a common.

I have never heard of a sevrum getting a foot long, A firend of mine has has some in a 125 for many years and they are only about 4 inches,

im not sure how fast the growth rate on urau are but that 55g will be pretty full with all those fish. if you are upgrading 100% within the year you could add a few more fish, but if you're uncertain, don't get any more.

i've got 3 severums now, one is 8" and about 1.5years old and another that's about 9", they get big
