How many is too many?

I have a 60 gal tank that currently has 2 small pictus cats, 3 small Bala Sharks, 1 sailfin pleco, and 1 7" synodontis hybrid. My wife wants to add up to three angel fish and a few (up to 5) gourami. Would this be over stocking the tank? We disagree with each other on this point. Who is right?

It's overstocked when you consider the future adult size of most of your fish. I'd replace the balas with angels and then the sailfin with a BN or whiptail pleco. What species are these gouramis? Be very careful when mixing gouramis with angels. Most are aggressive such as the blue and opaline strains. If I were you, stick with pearls.

if you do add all of that which i would cut back the gouramis to 3 you have to bump up filtration
