How Many is Too Many?

How many 4-6 inch african cichlids can you keep in a 5ft 100 gallon tank, to minimize agression, but not to make cleaning an everyday thing? Also same question but with a 60 gallon tank also?

you can keep around 15 on the 100 and 10 in the 60 if you have enough filtration and hiding places for the fish. i kept 9 full grown malawis in my 75 no prob.

I have 15 in a 55 with lots of rocks to hid in. It is working great...

I have nine and five synodontis in a 55 gallon I think that is streaching it though. I would say 15-20..in the 100gallon and 10-15 in the 60 gallon.

It depends what kind of african cichlids you have.

Have they already maxed out at 4"-6", or are these 4"-6" african cichlids far from being full grown?
