When you say "rocks" are you meaning; The aquarium gravel(subsrate) to cover the bottom of the tank, or the decorative rock to make strucures/caves?

Decorative rocks for caves

Aquariums are made with glass that can withstand alot of weight. There is a vid on youtube where a kid put 200 lbs of rock on a ten gallon tank and it didn't break. However some rock have points, with lots of weight the pressure could be extreme at the point causing the glss to shatter. As a precaution you can buy "eggcrate" at Home Depot or Lowes in the acoutical ceiling area. Eggcrate is a plastic lighting cover made of 1/2" squares.By laying this across the tanks bottom it will help distribute the weight evenly. If you are running an undergravel filter, that will work in the same way.

Here is a link to that video; http://youtube.com/watch?v=PgEwEiTyYcs
