I have had a baby alligator snapper for several month now. It used to only eat live with its tongue lure, but I managed to convince it to take dead. However, I never really kept tract how many it eats per day. Im currently feeding it 3 dead minnows per day.. I think it might be a bit much. 2 maybe 3 inch shell diameter.
How many minnows should a Alli snapper eat?

That should be fine. For me i think as long as he is eating it is okay. Just dont force him to eat. and if you really feel you feed him to much then you can always skip a day.

At that size feed it as much as it will eat. He/she will stop when no longer hungry. Wouldn't worry too much about over feeding until much older. That's what I did with mine and never saw it get fat at all. Just kept growing and growing! At about 3 years old it started to slow significantly in growth and I then cut back his food intake. I also cut back on feedings in fall through winter. Just my experience. Good luck
