how many neons in a 10g

i know 1in pergallon but is that a square inch? all im gonna have in the tank is neons and a snail and some sort of loach that will play in the sand thanks

the inch per gallon rule is pretty pointless . id say go for a max of 20 would be my bet with good filtration .

i have a hob rated for a 20 gallon tank im gonna go with 11 for now then

just be sure to have the tank fully cycled and keep up the water changes and you should be fine

Hello,
Do you know what kind of loach and snail that you will be getting? Because most loaches like to school so you will need to get more than one and some get big. I think if you got a school of small loaches and a snail you can probably get 12 neons.

Adding some plants will help balance out the tank and allow for higher fish-load.

As for loaches, for a 10gal tank... I'd say kuhli's are about your only option.
