How many neons in a 30b?

I know this corner of the forum is for larger characins, but neons do fall under the characin part of it.
anyway so I just emptied out my 30, planning on getting a decent sized school of neons to it, I touched on that in another post but I will have a pair of some small species of cichlid and maybe a pair or trio of bristlenose plecos.
that said, how many neons can i have in there (with good filtration and frequent waterchanges?)

Just today I upgraded my Betta from a 5g to a 20long. Got him 15 Black neons to play with. Will tell ya how it goes.
In the past I had the same number in a 20tall with a mess of other fish including young HRPs and it was fine.
