Try dwarf cichlids - pair of bolivan rams, pair of apistos, etc.

Yes, but you need at least a 55g tank, although some of the species you listed above would need a 75g tank and then you overstock.

You could have a pair of cons in there, or one with some dither fish...maybe some barbs or something.
