How many of you have any kind of text books at all about stingray/fish disease or parasites?
Are they specific on fish disease or just general on the species of fish you keep? Primary interest is in stingray-specific publications.

Do you actually read them and refer to them?

Which is the most useful book you have?

honestly, i don't feel like buying books when the internet has so much to offer. and the internet is something i already pay for.

I've got my basic parasitology and microbio textbooks to refer to, and a book specifically on keeping rays. I think that this is a legitimate concern, and many of the "mysterious" ray deaths could be easily prevented if more people would apply a few simple steps.

I'm guilty of it myself, honestly.

I have tons of books going back to when I studied marine zoology and ichthyology in college. Several of the books deal directly with diseases in aquaria. Most of the books deal with diseases and their control in aquaculture environments.

BTW, I started building my fish health library before there was an internet.

Oddball, do you have a definitive online source for diagnosing illnesses in aquaria? Or a first source that you check when you are stumped, etc?

i have several books ive obtained... sadly i dont know where i put them....

I have a few books on specific fish, a great one on general saltwater "natural reef aquariums" by tullock. and some random ones I inherited from my father which lists brichardi as "Lamprolongus savoryi elongatus" and the newest classification of "Lamprolongus brichardi" which is now known as "Neolampus brichardi" ? still a very interesting read and informative. Use to rent alot from the library but I'm a book worm. I don't think I have one specifically on diseases.. though I do for reptiles. lol. prolly not a bad idea..

i have one but i use MFK friends to help me decide b/c there is more than just my view on it and someone else probably knows more than i do!
