I have 2 in my 160 and I doubt I will add to anymore fish to the tank. I seen the effects of large fish crammed in small tanks. They grow deformed and nasty looking. Unhealthy. My oscars are about 10 inches each. I would consider 1 oscar in a 70 plus gallon tank with double filtration and 2 in a 120 or above. The species just needs more room then most other species.
I have an African cichlid tank that is a 55 with heck 13 fish in it and I could easily add more. The species are smaller and do not need as much space. Oscars deform if crammed in to small of a space.
O yes 2. To guy with three in a 125, nice work making that work out, they are pretty mean at times to each other, I had two in a grow out tank, and one turned on the other, the 65g grow out one is now living there.
I would say 2 max in the 4' 120G, maybe 3 in the 6' 100G if they get along and if you're cool with doing a lot of w/c's. But as said upthread a trio is very iffy temperament-wise; if they tolerate each other and you don't mind the work give it a shot.
