I have 2 pictus in a 125g. They have seperate caves at opp ends of the tank and when they cross paths they go at it then speed back to their caves. Has anyone kept 3+? Do they actually school together in larger groups?

At the LFS I work at we have like 10 in a 10gallon with a bunch of gourami's. Obviously not a good long term setup, but they are crazy awesome in a big group like that. I throw in shrimp pellets and they just swarm all over each other. They're crazier eaters than my piranha's ever were. I don't know what else you have in the 125, but I'd say get like 3 more, they're always active, and keep things interesting.

i have an oscar about 6". 3 red hooks, 3 SD and one spotted dollar. 6" BGK and a 5" watermelon pleco.

I have 5 pictus and no they don't really school. They fight constantly driving the each other away from their small space. But I have them in a 29gal now as a grow out (still too small for my 110 b/c fish in signiture). They do stick together somewhat.

I have had my pictus for about a year and a half now, i got them in pairs first but they constantly fought each other - the weaker one then died, now i have just one left, he has grown a lot is doing much better on his own, he has fattened up as well! be careful though, they are extremely prone to whitespot.

my 2 do this they do great in larger groups but seem to scuffle when kept in pairs
