how many platies in a 10g

my 10g sucks and i want to make it colourful for my girlfriend since my 125 is filled with aggressive fish.

lol, as a girl.. I do have my "girly" tanks as well as my predetory.. my suggestion.. get some low light live pants like wendeti, crypts, a peice of driftwood, natural gravel. and toss a trio of fancy guppies (1m, 2fem)in the tank, a clown pleco or similar small pleco. and "let the magic happen" I pull extra guppies from the tank periodically and simply feed them to my big boys and girls. and it can be fun playing around w/ different color combos w/ males/fems in the tank. and it looks nice, w/ minimal maintence. Otherwise if you go platies I'de do a trio. I have 2 10gals set-up this way. one has gold dust mollies, 2 bumble bee cats ( they eat all the fry usually ). the other has guppies, 2 clown plecos, and growing out a baby ornate bichir atm.
