I have a 50G tank for all my fish and im gonna buy another 50g soon.
I only have one Senegalus for now, but when i get the new tank its gonna be a polypterus/"shark" tank (bala-sharks+pangasius sutchi).
Im obviously gonna add some more polys, but how many do you think is right?

the tank is 40" x 16" x 20" (length x depth x height)

Ohh yeah, my senegalus is 6", what type of polypterus would you recommend as her tankmates?
Can all polys live together?

perhaps 2 more for life.....and any smaller species of polypterus, such as delhezi, palmas polli, palmas palmas, retropinnis, palmas moke. palmas but. a few more, but there is a small list of acceptable tankmates.

oh i musta missed something. bala sharks need atleast a 125gallon tank, so they shouldn't be in the 50, and idk much about that other species you said.

A pangasius sutchi will reach 80 to 100 cm (32" to 40 "), and require at least 800 liters (211 gals.). You definitely need a major upgrade if you decide to keep it.

I agree, pangasius can and will reach huge sizes and require bare minimum 21 gallon tank and even that's pushing it. Balas require at least a six foot tank as they are very active and need to school. I would just stick with 3 - 4 of the smaller bichirs.

Could do like 2 bichirs and a brown african knifefish
