how many rbs in a 55gal?

my uncle used to have around that many in a 55 gallon. i actually have the same tank he had them in now.
A rule of thumb is 20 gallons per fish, so I would only go with 3 for life, but that is still pushing it. If you start out with little RBP's I would get about 6-7 to start. Sell/trade the ones you don't want to keep for the long haul.
