I was wondering how many red belly piranhas I could keep in a 75g tank. I am gonna have some fake plants and drift wood in there for cover. Right now I have an eheim 2028 canister filter on the tank. It is rated for a tank up to 190g and I am running carbon, filter floss, and ammonia and phosphate removal media in it. Is this enough filtration for piranhas or not. Also I have two maxjiet 1200's that I have in the tank for water movement. I thought about putting them both on one end so there would be some current in the tank. Will this be enough current or not?
Thanks

For life three maybe four. If you get them small you could get half a dozen and once they hit about five inches pick out three or four of the best and sell the rest.

My 2 rbp's snacked on the plastic plants, and sometimes the edgier pieces would stick in their mouths/throat. Try to get natural fauna if you can. Rock-caves and other such things make decent lounge spots for the shy ones!

I have 3 in my 75 gallon and that's all I will have or reccomend for life. Heres a shot of my 75 with 3 3" little Red Bellies in the tank.

Very Nice Pictures. I would say about 10 RBP. Because you will probably lose 3 or 4 due to eating each other; no matter how well you feed them. :(
