I want to get some red bellys but the only size tank I have room to get right now is a 55. A LFS has 2 inchers. How many should I get so as they grow up they will be comforable and not too crowded. But I don't want to have to few of them so they beat each other up or wont they do this. Also what is the best thing to feed them when they are that small to help em grow faster.

3.
i have 3 in mine, their around 3 inches atm. i feed them hikari sinking carnivorous pellets. it really brings out their red on their bellies.

dont overstock, i used to have 4, but they canabalized the smaller one, and their not even full size yet.

also, add a powerhead and get as big a piece of driftwood as possible.
mine are skittish, only when someone is in front of the tank.

from my sofa, i can watch them swim against the power head and swim around the tank, but when i get close, they go and hide in the driftwood.

Like paOol said, 3 is what you will want for a 55. And you will want a large powerhead and a good filter, at least (1) AC110. Do your water changed once a week, to keep all of the waste and food remains clean.

When I had mine, I fed them frozen krill, beefheart, and cocktail shrimp.

i have a 50 gal. breeder, 36x18, will that hold 3 rbp's?
