If your not fussed about breeding, then you can really pack em in there.
Their quite a social fish, and will shoal confidently when kept in grounds.
In a 6 x 2 x 2, just as a collection, i'd be happy with 12 fish easily. Just keep ontop of your water changes and your laughing.

Asking for trouble in my experience as Severums can be quite con-specifically aggressive. Will more than likely need to mix and match specimens to find an arrangement that works.

I read somewhere that it's recomended that keep 3 or more in the same tank, but on of my friend had 2 sev in his tank for about 2 year without any problem!

Somehow I lucked out and ended up with all male severums in my 150. There's been no fighting or displaying as a result of trying to "get the girl," so apart from the occasional tussle for dominance (usually during feeding) I've had a mellow group.
I do have one female in my fish room, in a 55 gallon, and I'm afraid to ever introduce her to the 150. I'm afraid if I introduce any females, all hell is going to break loose and things will never be the same.
