How many silver dollars?

Quick question....Looking to buying some silver dollars for a 55. Can anyone tell me how many I can put in a tank? No tank mates just silvers.

Silver dollars thrive in school and use as dithers. Better to keep them in a group of 5+. With a 55g, I would say 6 if they are small (under 3"). I've seen some specie getting really big, but 6 would do fine especially if you plan on adding more fish in the future.

Get thin bars or tiger stripes. The metynnis silver dollars tend to stay small.

Ok cool. Yea I was thinking about 4 silvers. But if 6 works I might just do that.

you could do 5 or 6 no promblem put some fake plants that you could float on the water it will help calm them

I wouldn't recommend any silver dollars in a 55. They are just way to active and skittish for a tank that small in my opinion.
