Hey there. So I've got kind of an odd question. How many fish tanks can I safely set up?

Here's the complicating factor - I live in the third floor of an apartment building. I currently have a 180 gallon tank, a 30 gallon tank, and a 20 gallon tank all set up. Had no problems so far. I have been thinking of getting another big tank, but I am unsure if this is safe. The apartment building is in good shape and is less than 7 years old.

My landlord is fine with however many tanks I have, as long as I exercise caution. With that being said, would setting up another big tank be okay?

How about some details? Are the tanks in the same room? How many rooms in the apartment? Do you have renter's insurance to protect you in case of damage from a tank accident affecting the apartment(s) below yours? Are waterbeds allowed? Is there already alot of furniture in the room(s) with the tanks?
Your only safe bet is to have an architect or construction engineer verify that your tanks will be safe on your building's floors.

I live on the 2nd floor of a 100+ year old 3 family house. I currently have 5 tanks set up and thinking about 2 more 30's to add. Since all the tanks are spread out pretty good and no problems have occurred, I'm confident about adding the 2 new ones. However, I have to admit, when I put up my 5th tank just recently, I did buy renters insurance...just in case. Better safe than sorry, I guess.

My hope is to ditch all my 30's once I move and get a 180, buy a 65 and keep my 55. Then again, I could keep them all...call me crazy but I love keeping fish.
