how many tetras...... ya its ,lame gimme a break

so my empty 10 gallon was driving me crazy just sitting there with nothin in it (cant have an empty tank now can we ) and i decided id do a peaceful tank with some corys and tetras. about a week ago i picked up the corys to cycle the tank and its now done. so i want to get as many tetras as possible, more leaning twwords over stocked than understocked and to accomadate it im using a filter rated for a 30 gallon tank. so....

with 2 panda corys how many black neons and cardinals can i cram in here? would 10 of each be way to much? i skipped the terta phase and went trait for the monsters so i have no clue what to put in a 10 gallon other than using it to grow out bichirs.......

Well, with tetras that small, you might be able to squeeze 12-15ish in there; along with your corys, 20 tetras might be too many. And obviously, not all at the same time, maybe in increments of 3-5. Overall, if you time it right, maybe 6-7 of each tetra.

Go with 6 of each and throw in some Glass Cats

do u think they would still school well in groups of 6 or 7 ? cuz i could do 7 of heach or 15 of 1 and be able to add some hatchets.......

I hear that in order to really see small fish school, you need a large tank and a large number of the schooling fish. Other wise, the tank is so small that by the time the leader gets to one end and turns around, the others haven't even made it that far yet. So it just looks like fish swimming all around.
And from my experience, this tends to be true. I had a dozen Neon Tetras in a 10g once and they never really looked like they were schooling. They seemed to be all over the place.

ok i think ill go with like 7 cardinals to start, then once the filter adjusts to that , 7 black neons

I've got 8 neons in a 10 with 4 peppered corys and they school just fine...

I'd go with about 15 cardinals (plus the cories) and nothing else but that's just me.
