So I currently have 3 full grown red zebras and a JD in a 55g, I was told they've lived there since little. I want to add a few more cichlids 1 male 3 female if another species, how many should I add at a time to help secure their chancea of survival? They currently are pretty peaceful with each other, pecking order has been developed.

Ill be waiting untill the tank is fully cycled, im adding a DIY wet/dry filter with a 20g sump soon to go with the biowheel filter.

Why no more? I always understood to keep cichlids a bit crowded to avoid aggression.

It's just my opionin that u shouldnt add more fish jd could hit 10" possibly and red zebra are full grown at about. 5" but I'm not saying you can't add more if you had a 90 then it would be better and over stocking is debate I don't want to have haha I kept 4 five in blue Acura in a 55 and for myself felt that was good

JD is actually going to be traded in soon. I was never a fan of over stocking but I just figured that was the cichlid game hahah
