How many cichlids can you keep in a 125g(long)? Let say an estimate of 10"in max.

BUMP

I have right now in my 125 severum, con,fm,jd,oscar,gt all are doing fine with six tiger barbs.I keep an eye on them there may come a day when i have to move them to another tank, but for now all is good.

Lets see I have a small jag 6", 6" barred midas, 8" Zaliosus and a 4" Carpinte and it is ALL HELLLLLL!!! I mean you could have 6 or 7, 10" fish in there and not have a problem but it all depends on what the fish personality is like and all mine are EXTREMELY nasty to each other. Yet I have a 240 with a RD, Midas, Beani and a Black Nasty and they all treat each other good. On occasion though the Black Nasty gets extremely out of hand but cools down in a couple hours. This only happen 3 times in the past year so he's all good.
You can have as many fish you want in there as long as you do MEGA water changes and keep everything sane. I personally would say don't go over 4.

so what about three oscars,is that okay??

I've got two Oscars, a JD, and a pleco in my 125g and I still have to referee between them...

do a severum tank as yakuza said i have a severum tank 75 gallon and it looks good, 3 oscars is gonna get bad, i guess you could go with that, i personally dont like oscars but it doesnt matter but prolly shouldnt get more than 4 or 5 i just got a 125 and my stock list is 2 rb snook maybe a bn pleco and a severum, make good decisions, research alot before you buy, 3 o's is deffinitely not a great idea but who knows it might work out for ya

as many as you want! you just might want to concider how many you think can survive in the tank
