Hes around 5" i finnally got him to eat but only goldfish so far, but its like he will just keep eating them lol. So how often should i feed him?

In nature they will go days without eating, so most people stuff their large cats one day and then fast them for a day or two. I know this is very vague, but just giving you a starting point until the experts show up.

Thanks thats kinda what i figured, anyone else have any info to chime in with?

on a side not i got him to eat his first piece of shrimp today :)

Ive heard you mention him not eating a few times so im glad he is eating. No advice on gulper cats but i really want one where did you get yours?

Good to get them off of live foods! I know with rtc and tsn alot of people like to feed live food until the fish is around a foot, and then switch to store bought food. I am not sure the thinking behind this though.... I would think that it would be better to get them off of live foods early to eliminate the risk of diseases and have better quality food.

Maybe someone else will chime in and specify why live food is fed until a larger size is reached...

when they are small they grow rapidly and would have to eat a lot to help in that growth of theirs
and small fish of any sort are very delicate and have to be taken care of properly
and when they don't get the food they want they starve and may die (it always doesn't happen that the fish's survival instincts take priority and start eating what you throw in)
but as the fish grow bigger they learn that you provide food and are easy to teach to take non live food
i don't say wait till the fish reaches a foot, but at least till it is 6" or plus

Yeah i got this guy from infinite aquatics, and they did a great job. I tried for almost a week getting him to eat shrimp, worms, and i even had some feeder fish in the tank. He wouldnt look twice at anything and it made me kinda worried. Then someone said hold the goldfish by the tail in front of his mouth and that worked like a charm, he will eat those till he explodes. So now i just try and trick him and make him eat the shrimp right away and it worked yesterday but he wouldnt eat anymore after that. But im not worried anymore and all my fish are eating and growing fast :) I will feed this guy live for a while prob till i can get him to take shrimp constantly. Thanks guys, Anyone else have any info on how often to feed these guys? and how much

im gonna check out all my wholesalers to see if i can find one if i cant ill check into that site .thank you
