I'm building a 220 gallon tank and would like some recommendations on the bracing.
The tank measurements are 72 L x 32 W x 22 H. Front and back are 1/2 inch and sides are 3/8 inch (all regular plate glass). The bottom is 3/4 inch plywood sealed with Pond Armor with a 1 1/2 x 3/4 inch rim. The right rear corner has an internal overflow made from 1/2 inch glass measuring 19 x 6 with four 1 inch bulkheads in the bottom for a Beananimal drain and one return. I have a 4 inch wide brace made from 1/2 inch glass along the full length of the front and part of the back to accommodate the overflow box. All seams are attached with RTV103.
According to the calculators I've found online this tank is overbuilt. Do any experienced tank builders think that I need to add more bracing along the sides, or is it sufficient to have just the front and back braced?
