What price could I get for Red Texas fry knowing that pair came from Thailand and good genetic lines!! On aquabid Red Texas range from $9 to 10 for $220.

Here are the parents of the fry that came from Pat (Rainnybetta) in Thailand.

I know some of you have commented to me about this, but I would like to see everyone's opinion.

Bud has a good suggestion. There are 2 business models to choose from. You can grow out your Red Texas and vary the price based on their obvious quality, or sell a whole bunch at a smaller size for a better price, based on potential quality. My opinion...I agree with bud, sell more for less and let's all enjoy these incredible RTs. Either way you are going to have a ton of sweet fish on your hands.

Sounds like we have a concensus here on what I should do. I do plan on keeping some to grow out to see the potential out come of the fish.

The fry are all 1/2 to 3/4 inch already!!!! When should I start shipping these little guys? Can I put, say 10 of these little guys in a 8 x 20in? 2mil bag (w/ Oxy)

If it were me, I would set up a nice sized vat and grow them up, separate them in quality, catalog, then sell. But that's just me. I would hate to not be able to see them grow up. Then after that, once you have some good quality pics and examples (maybe some % stats of quality) you're next batches you can sell off young with good data to promote the price.

There will be a fixed demand no matter what you price them. I would not count on "pumping out" 300 a month for any extended period.

The hybrid market or the fish market in general is not huge.

^ so make sure to use all forms of advertising at your disposal, IE Aquabid, MFK and other fish forums (pref FH ones), Craigslist, LFS, etc. But make sure and do your homework first, so you dont come off looking like some dude pumping out fry.
