How much does iPhone/iPad/iTouch OS 4.0 cost?

Does anyone know how much this update will cost? Its got lots of cool new features but i dunno how much it costs, because my itouch is synced to my stepdads account, and hes gotta put money on it with his credit card.
So, anyone bought it?

I heard that it was only free in the iphone and ipad, thats why i asked. i remember 3.0 was something like $20 for me.

looked it up on a few sites, its free and almost done restoring my music and whatnot. i cant wait to play with the new features!

its free. i got it a week or so ago. battery life is affected. all of the features are only available if you have the 3gs.

i can make folders for apps on my 2g itouch
but sadly i cant have any cool backgrounds, or connect a keyboard to my itouch

i only have 2 app pages now, im so organized
