ok well my dad is worried my catfish are going to cost too much to feed. they are going to be 3 pictus pimelodus and one ornate pimelodus:naughty:. so any ideas on how much i can expect to spend feeding them:confused:? pls help. i cant get them till i get this cleared up.:(

Really depends on what you feed. If you do like massivore and thats it, it will be expensive. I give my RTC anything and everything.... raw chicken, raw meat, pieces of fish that I catch(triggerfish, bluefish, flounder, etc). I also give him massivore to make sure he's getting everything he needs. I'd say I will probably be spending about $100 on food this year.

Well since they don't get all that big, I think maybe a $3 bag of market shrimp or tilapia fillets would last a month, or more. Plus you can get earthworms for free!

You can cultivate earthworms. Make sure your sources are not contaminated with pesticides though. And I discourage the use of live tubifex worms as they are evidently used as a vector of tranmission towards fish by myxosporidian parasites. No commonly available treatment can sort that nasty stuff once it happens.

oh:WHOA:. good thing i am getting a job for my 14 birthday at the lfs:naughty:. that will pay for the fish i guess. i was gonna fed them bloodworms, shrimp, fish, massavore, and cichlid pellets. they will probably get lots of treats so i guess it will be slightly exspensive:confused:

I feed my 3 pictus catfish sinking shrimp pellets. In the month that I've had them they haven't even gone through a quarter of the bottle. It was $12. Plus treats I'd say I'm going to spend around $65-75 on food for the three pictus cats.

free.99 i feed my big fish carp fillets, i bowfish for carp during spawn, shoot a couple hundred lbs worth, bring em home hack em down to fillets, cube the fillets and freeze it in my deep freeze, get a bag out every week :)
