Hello friends,
How much does it cost to feed aggressive freshwater fish, such as a peacock bass, each day or month when they are around 8'' 14'' or 18''? just need price to see how many fish i can get without going broke. Thanks

Welcome to MFK,
...feeding will be in direct relationship to the type of food you feed...you are in Fl. so I imagine you have access to fresh fish, so that won't be too bad.

Pellets if you buy them in bulk run about 50.00 a kilo and will last 6 months per fish if you feed them daily...
Waste is mainly where you can save money. Just feed what they'll eat and no more and the food will last longer...

Usually feeding them isn't what makes a fishkeeper go broke, it's all the equipment and appurtenances, and of course the "EXTRA" fish and all the things associated with multiple and way overstocked tanks, filtration being right up there...

Sounds like you are just getting started, so you'll have all the rookie mistakes to deal with as well...remember we are here to help and we all started out right where you are at, so just ask and assume nothing...;) :D

I have about 17 fish ranging from 10" to 24" I go through 2 lbs of frozen food a week. Whether it be shrimp or tilapia fillets. I feed every other day

the bigger they grow, the more they eat and the more waste they produce, the more filteration you would need. $$$$

my orino eats the tail end of a market shrimp every other day... i usually buy raw shrimp in bags at asian supermarkets for about 15 dollars... last me 3 months or so.
