I have this really cool rock cave going that I made out of two rocks I found. If I plant some java fern on top of it, how much will the plant's roots take over the cave? Will my fish still be able to swim through it?
How much does Java Fern take over what it's planted on.

It doesn't grow like a weed, but once it's acclimated, it does faily well. Just trim it occasionally and you'll be fine.
