i got to thinking, i got alot running on one outlet. How much should i be worried? here's what i got:
150g:
2 250w stealth heaters
2 penguin 350
1 cascade 1500 c-filter
1 36" light

55g:
1 penguin 350
1 48" light
1 whisper 20g air pump
1 250w stealth

Don't worry about it! I have two power strips plugged into one outlet, and two more power strips plugged into those. The dial outside is spinning like a frisbee. House fires, meh.

on a 110volt 15 amp circut you have 1650 watts, add up all your watts and find out if your good. If any of your equipment only lists amps then multiply by 110 and that will give you watts. If your lights are fluoresent then they have ballasts and are only using 15-20% of the rated wattage of the lamp.

There are probably 5-6 other outlets on this same circut too.

It's not the voltage you should worry about. It's the amount of amps all your equipment is pulling. Check the circuit breaker that feeds that outlet. If it's hot, it's an indication of too much draw. Have an electrician upgrade your breaker to a larger service size and check the wiring to make sure it's an appropriate size to service your system. This will prevent an 'accidental' fire if your draw goes above the wiring's rating and gets hot enough to melt the wire's insulation.

oddball, you would make it hard. the house is like 25 years old and we have removed some aluminum wireing so im kinda worried but i'll check the breaker, thank to all
