Currently my tropheus is quite small 0,75-1" (2-2,5cm) and the currents in the tank is quite high. I have an FX5 in a 75G. They come to the top to play in the flow and after a while gets down in less streamy areas. I was thinking of getting a flow pump to the other side of the tank to break the surface. Won't that cause to much flow for my tropheus fry?

How much flow is too much for them? What is the recommended amount?

Nah, they'll be fine. In my 100 gal growout tank, I had two 1400 gph powerheads, an AC110, and an xp3 and they did fine
