jus curious if its possible to have to much water current in an arowana tank? they seem pretty excited about it but will it become an issue? and another thing, if im using a pond pump as a power head because thats basically what it is, is this thing gonna be causing a bunch of heat that could possibly heat the water in the tank above anything dramatic? dont wanna cook my lil friends jus for some current. my water was to "still" with only a filter in it. hardly no movement, thanks

just dont turn your tank over 10x

my 75 is turning over 10x a hour my lil aro didnt mind it. Course I had 3 diff currents only one of which was top water.

well thanks for the responses guys, i jus finished up a home made 5gal bucket filter with a bunch of pot scrubbers for media and 100% polyester for filtration, i have two 400gph pumps pumpin into the bucket with a 2" drain hole. seems to be creating enough water current but not to much, just enough to know the waters circulating. with only 1ft of head height it must be getting atleast 700gph through the bucket gravity filter and a hob 320gph and all this is on my 100gal tank lol. if all works out well ill be doin a 1500gph twin bucket setup on my 150gal tank. hope all is well

ps. having a filter like this can only help right? i was afraid to use it cuz i made it myself haha. the pot scrubbers are for media filtration and the polyester is like mechanical filtration right? no bad here, only good? dont want my buddies to die jus cuz im tryin to be mr. handy... thanks guys
